How to Draw an Arrow Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
We will be drawing an excellent ornate design for this guide on how to draw an arrow. To begin with, we will mark the tip of the arrow. It would help if you had a ruler handy for this and some of the following steps in the guide, as we will draw many straight lines. Begin by drawing two lines that converge at a very sharp point that moves slightly outward. Then use two shorter lines to connect at the base of the point.
These shorter cords will also form a less strong point at the bottom. Next, draw a line down the seat of the arrowhead and then use some short, curved lines for the points at the base of the arrowhead. If any of this sounds confusing, the reference image will guide you on how it should look.
Step 2
In this part of the arrow drawing, we will draw the arrow’s central body or “shaft.” We’ll add more ornate detail to this part of the arrow for this design. To make things easier for you, you can use a pencil to draw the axis lines so you have a reference as you draw. Then, draw some details of the rope tied under the arrowhead and add a small leaf above those details among them. Then go to step 3!
Step 3
For this third step in our guide on how to draw an arrow, we’ll draw a bit more of the axis. This part will also be decorated with pieces that you can draw with curved lines along the straight edge of the post. The reference image will guide you on how to replicate our design, and once you’re happy with it, we can move on to step 4.
Step 4
Before we draw the feathers of the pointer drawing, we’ll draw a bit more of the post in this step. Draw more of the detail we started in the last steps to make the rest of this shaft. Adding some curved lines for the birth of the feathering, we’ll continue with that in step 5 while adding some final points.
Step 5
This step of our How to Draw an Arrow guide will see you draw the arrow’s fletching. This is a feathered part at the end of an arrow that helps improve the accuracy and stability of the arrow as it flies through the air. Draw this; we’ll use some curved lines ending in points to create the feathery look of the feathers. You can then add some line detail to the arrowhead and axis to finish off the texture details.
That will finish this drawing, but now you can add details to give it your twist! One good idea would be to draw a bow with similar details to the arrow.
